What we collect when you book, write to us or just look around, what we do with it, and how to say no. Written to be read.
Effective 1 September 2026. Long Horn Wine Tours ("we", "us") runs a small-group barbecue and wine tour out of Austin, Texas. This page explains what personal information we collect through longhornwinetours.com, why, who else sees it, and the choices you have. Questions go to info@longhornwinetours.com or 512-378-3451 — a person answers.
What we collect, and when
When you book a seat. Reservations and payment are handled by FareHarbor, our booking provider. FareHarbor collects your name, email address, phone number, party size, date, and payment card details. Card details never touch our website; we see the booking details we need to run the tour and to reach you about it. FareHarbor's own policy is at fareharbor.com/legal/privacy.
When you contact us. The contact and private-tour forms ask for your name, email, phone number and message (and, for private tours, your date and group size). Submissions are stored by Netlify, our hosting provider, and emailed to us so we can reply. If you email or call us directly we keep the correspondence for as long as we need it to help you.
When you browse. The site uses Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads tags to understand how people find and use it: pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, and whether you clicked "Reserve", called, or emailed. These tools set cookies. If we run advertising on Meta (Facebook and Instagram) the site may also load the Meta Pixel for the same purpose. Nothing here identifies you by name; the analytics are about how the site performs, not who you are.
What we use it for
To run your tour and get in touch about it. To answer your questions and quote private tours. To see which pages and campaigns lead to bookings so we can spend our small marketing budget sensibly. To show relevant ads to people who visited the site, where we run ads. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for anything unrelated to the tour.
Who else sees it
Only the services that make the site work: FareHarbor (booking and payment), Netlify (hosting and form handling), Google (analytics and advertising measurement — see how Google uses information from sites that use its services), and Meta if the pixel is switched on. Our winery and restaurant partners get a headcount and a time, not your details. We will hand information over if the law requires it.
Cookies, and how to say no
The analytics and advertising cookies are the only ones we set. You can block or clear them in your browser settings, install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on, or turn off personalised ads at adssettings.google.com. The site works exactly the same either way — booking, calling and emailing us don't depend on any of it.
How long we keep it
Booking records are kept for as long as we need them for the tour itself, for refunds and for tax purposes. Contact-form messages are kept while we're dealing with them and cleared out periodically afterwards. Analytics data is retained on Google's standard settings.
Your choices
Email info@longhornwinetours.com and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it — no form to fill in. To change or cancel a booking, use the link in your FareHarbor confirmation or call us.
Age
The tour is for adults 21 and over and the site is not directed at children. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13; if you think we have, tell us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we change how the site collects or uses information we'll update this page and the date at the top. The current version is always at longhornwinetours.com/privacy.
